Fat grafting (Lipostructure)
Fat grafting (or lipostructure) is a surgical procedure that allows to harvest adipose tissue from abdomen or flanks or thighs (donor sites) and to inject it with small cannulas in the areas that are to be treated. The lipostructure is used to fill or to increase volume either in the face and in the other parts of body (e.g. breasts, buttocks, calves).
Lipofilling is usually performed under local anesthesia, consisting in injecting drugs under the skin of treated/harvesting areas.
The result of a single treatment is not completely predictable because it depends on the percentage of adipose cell survival.
The outcome will be definitive in about 3-6 months after the surgical procedure.
