Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
Mastopexy (or Breast Lift) is a breast remodelling procedure consisting in removing the skin excess and put the nipple-areola complex back in its correct position. The fall (ptosis) of the breast can be a consequence of breastfeeding, significant changes in weight, force of gravity or be due to the natural process of aging. Depending on the severity of the case and the technique used, the scars can be different: a single scar around the areola; a scar around the areola and a vertical one that reaches the breast sulcus; a scar around the areola, a vertical one to the breast sulcus and one which extends horizontally along the sulcus for a variable length. The surgery can be done under local anesthesia, local and sedation or general anesthesia.
